Time really flies like nobody business...
It was 4 and 1/2 years ago when this senior colleague interviewed me
and offered me the temporary position in Philips.
And before my contract ended, I was offered a permanent contract in
another position but in the same dept.
Oh gosh... But now, this senior colleague who worked for this company
for 34 long years... will be having his last day on 31st Mar 2009.
I still remembered the day I took up the perm job is 1st April 2005.
That was so long ago...
And how ironic that on 1st Apr 2009, he will not be in our dept anymore.
Blame it on the current economic crisis...
Blame it on the manager who decided to make him the "scapegoat"
Blame it on the company policy of cutting cost...
Blame it on .... anything...
Well... I sincerely wish him all the best in his future.
He will enjoyed his life and travelled all around (going to London & Paris in April)
Hopefully, he can take this opportunity to take a long good break...
Thank you Fung Swee for all your guidance and teaching.
I will always remember you for as long as I live...
Au Ming, you will also be leaving...
but you are a very good table tennis player and a friend to have.
Steven, wish you have a "good early retirement" and may you be
healthy and happy always... Enjoy the good break...

What a night...
It's Friday...
Yue was asking if I can go for a drink with her tonight...
I told her np but will have to be after the dinner with my colleagues..
Then suddenly around 7plus, my sister sms me that the other younger twin sister
was hospitalised due to low red blood cell.
OMG.... so many things happening...
I still went for dinner with my colleagues at Toa Payoh...
However, they were meeting Roger as well after his night course...
But I have to rush down to hospital to visit my sister before the time is over.
Then I sms Yue that I will go down later after visiting my sister...
When I reached there, I saw a group of people leaving...
I supposed they are my sister's friend or colleagues...
And I was right... haha... cause I asked my sister when I was in her room.
She seem so weak... and fragile.
Haiz... Pray that she will get well soon...
Then I took a taxi to meet Kwok, Yue & April...
They were at Canto Rock Pub drinking and deciding to switch to another Pub nearby.
Then we choose to drink at Archipeglo Pub... just opposite the street.
We were playing poker card (Dai Dee) happily when there was a big "Ang Mo"
who came to sit down without "our invitation".
He seem drunk... and started to talk rubbish when we suggested to play poker with him. As time goes by... he is becoming more and more agressive and all his words is
so vuglar and so rude... Basket... How I wish he can get lost...
Then suddenly, he said many thing which is kind of "sexual harassment" to my female
friends... I kindly asked him to sit another place and we do not want to talk to such
person... He seem unhappy and asked me why so serious etc...
The manager was here trying to invite that Ang Mo (from Scotland which claimed to be)
to settle his bill and leave the place at once..
He tried to push the manager and wanted to throw a punch but he fell over instead
to Kwok lap. I almost wanted to confront him and scold him vuglarity.
If I didnt control my anger and emotion at that time, I will already throw a
punch at him... Zzzzz
I picked up my hp and checked with the manager if I should call the police.
He kindly told me to go ahead... and I dialed 999.
When that Ang Mo saw that "we were serious", he tried to pick his bag and go away.
But he fell down once again... lol.. looking so clusmy and stupid..
Within 5min, the police car arrived.
They took down our statement and my contact just in case they needed me for
assistance. I kindly obliged.
After that, Kwok went home at around 2.15am cause he needed to attend a concert
that very morning... haha...
So we went to K-box for some singing session...
I was sleepy and slept on the seat....
Faint... it was 6am...
Time to go home...
What a night of "happening event"
I hope that Heaven can bless my younger twin sister to recover
and faster discharged from hospital...
May the force and strength be with her...
God bless....

Interactive Quality Town Meeting
The Quality Town Meeting still proceed today even though the big boss
from Holland is not able to make it due to some very serious issue...
The entire day was spend doing the presentation and questions slides...
We do not even have a single rehearsal on the coordination part...
OMG... the manager presentation slides was also passed to use this morning
at 11.30am. The event started at 1.30pm...
Wa piangz... everything was in a rush siah...
As usual, my manager asked to check his own presentation slides so many times
that I guessed he is just so afraid to show the wrong input... haha...
Our first question using the "Electronic Voting Device" was a BIG cock up.
Haha.. cause the audience anyhow pressed the button without hearing the signal
"You may start voting"... and caused the whole system to "crash"
Luckily, we managed to remedy it on the spot in a short time.
As for the rest of the presentation, there was a minor "screwed up"
due to the lacking of coordination with the manager... haha
The rest of the questions which used the voting device
went quite smoothly...
Cause I was the one who control the presentation and have to
complie the final results of the voting to be shown on the screen immediately.
Phew... so happy and glad that it was all over...
Anyway, the whole Town Meeting was quite ok since we do

Hope for the next Town Meeting, please do not ask me to do the
presentation because it should be the turn for other commitee member liao...

Big Boss Not Coming...
Yes... Haha...received email that the Quality big boss (from Holland)
had cancelled his trip to Singapore due to some unforeseen circumstances.
At least, the presentation will be less stressful
Especially after the assurance from our own Dept Quality Manager that
he does not want it to be "Perfect" and just a simple one will do....
yippee.... hooray....
And he almost want to say the 7-letter words "Fxxxxxx"...
such as... That big boss is "Fxxxxxxx" getting on my nerves
Which he didnt mentioned it... as he "paused" his statement
in front of the organising committee... haha ... it was pretty cool...
Well... feeling more peace and happier after the short discussion...keke
It's just put a bigger smile on my face... =D

Full Moon Night
Just went for a jog after 10.30pm when I reached home from work.
I told myself I must make it under 30min timing tonight...
Guess what... I almost failed... that mean I succeed...
OMG... I stopped almost from the 2nd round onward....
Don't understand how I managed to clock under 30min...
Anyway... maybe it is the full moon tonight keke...
So guess somebody up there listening to my prayer
and helped me to "stop that time" ....
Final timing is 29min 56.02 sec... Gosh...
it was 1min faster than my previous run (on Sunday) haha...
I must make it under 29min for the next 2 run...
But I must say that the moon is so lovely and I saw
north star... 3 stars in a line with another 2 stars in between...
It was so beautiful....
And I also saw one of the star shinning so brightly...
At that moment, I make a wish...
Actually I make 3 wishes.. haha.. Greedy me...
Well... Hope it will come true...

Crystal Jade "New Year Lunch"
Suddenly, remember that last Friday, 6th Feb we have our lunch at
Crystal Jade in Toa Payoh Central.
I was the facilitator for my section this year... Faint
Therefore, whatever people day program, I am representing my section...
OMG... Very suay... haha
Anyway, our boss decide to treat us FOC.
It was agreed initially that he foot 50% of the bills and
the rest will be spilt equally among us...
Well, the food is quite good in my view except
that there was no air con halfway through the lunch...
and the waiting time for our food took 45min... faint...
We were one of the earliest batch of customers but they served
the food to other first... Sianz...
Anyway, it was good to have a lunch together as a section.
*By the way, my leader did not come as he was on his final 3rd week
of hospitalisation leave... Really know how to "geng" haha

Almost dying
Just reached home at 11.30pm....
Then suddenly have the urge to go for a jog...
Basket... the air was so dry and humid....
Alamak.. never mind... I still went for a 5km run
My target is 30min to complete...
In the end, I completed the 5km run in 30min38.56sec...
Shit lah... I missed my target timing...
I also dropped dead on the pavement of the road...
OMG.... Luckily, my faith and endurance held on to
carry on with some exercise...
I must start my jogging right now...
if not, I think I cannot become "Heng Almightly" liao
Haha... kidding lah...

Another new year
Another lunar new year have passed.
It become so routine every year...
The feeling of going back for once a year gathering seem so "strange"
All the little cousins have grown up...
I realised how times flies...
How I was once like them....
Enjoying and looking forward to new year
and collecting "Ang Bao" from Uncle and Aunt...
But the feeling is not the same anymore...
The thought of going to relative house make me feel so ....
It seem that I have already feel that many things cannot be the same anymore
never ever again...
But I know that life have to go on...

Very Full
Have a heavy dinner just now with a few colleagues (one from Holland)
at Bugis Area. The restauarnt name is Wing Seong Fatty (if I remember correctly)
It was a last minute thing for me as I didn't know this colleague is coming.
Anyway, it was a good dinner and bring him around Bugis area.
It was also a surprise that the place changed quite a lot...
Haha.. it must be ages since I been there...
Then when I reached home... Guess what..
My younger twin sister who just arrived home from Kuching (Sarawak)
bought back a packet of noodle. OMG....
My mum asked me to eat it...
Actually, I was full.. real full... super full...
But as I do not like to waste food...
and it was especially delivered through "DHL" from Kuching so I just ate the whole packet up.
The noodle was not bad except it was cold liao... haha...
Then I feel a bit "cold in the stomach" and Guess what...
I made a cup of coffee... lolx...
Sipping the coffee and feeling so nice and warm...
But now ... feel tired.. but not sleepy
What can I do?
Thousand of questions, thought, memories flashed through my mind...
Hmm..... Better go listen some music or read some positive thinking book
before I let my imagination run wild again....

Forgotten my hp yet again!
It's lunch time...and I should be having my lunch...
But hor... feel a bit lazy...
Then this is the 2nd time in 2 weeks which I forgotten to bring my hp.
OMG.. I seem to be having short term memory...
Maybe age is catching up on me...
Maybe too tired and didnt sleep well last night...
Maybe I was in a rush so I forgotten...

Stop giving so much excuses....
It's just my problem anyway....
OK... Go for a short nap before lunch break is over...

Dinner at East Coast Park
I don't feel like going anywhere...
But as usual, they tried to drag me along to the dinner..
Faint... Since my sis's bf is driving so so I just go lor...
We went to C. Nai Hong Kong Express (part of Hong Kong Cafe) at East Coast Park.
It was my first time there and there are a lot of variety of nice food.
Well... in the end, we have our full and I volunteer to foot the bill
because my sis's bf pay all the time and I feel bad...
So I told him.. "I'll pay this time, please don't fight with me, thank!"
After that, we took a stroll at East Coast.
There were so many people at the beach...
Some were running...
Some were having BBQ....
Some were fishing....
Some were cuddling and chatting...
Some were just dancing, skating, roller blading etc...
Feel so good to take a walk after a heavy dinner at the beach...
How I wish I can stay near seaside and go to a beach
if I am feeling down or frustrated....
Haha... Just wanted to shout at the big sea and tell "God"
Take me away.......to a far far place....
where there is peace and harmony everyday >.<

New Year Shopping
It's been a long long time (more than 10yrs) since I last do some shopping for New Year.
Well, it just happened that I went to help my sister return her library books
at Woodlands Civic Centre. I went to the top level of the mall and found a small shop
selling quite a number of nice and cheap clothings.
In the end, I bought a pair of jean and polo t-shirt. Haha.. cost less than $40 bucks.
Then I went to shop again at Causeway Point and found a pair of nice cheap shoe.
LoL.. I went to purchase it and guess what...
The cashier gave me the wrong change. The shoe cost $40 and I gave her $50 but
she returned me $20 instead of $10. I only noticed it when I was out of the shop.
Oh damn it... should I return the "extra" money to that pretty cashier?
My conscience keep telling me to return but I got thousand of excuses not to do so...
I tell myself "Nvm.. I am lazy to walk back to the shop"
"Maybe I took it as a 25% discount for the shoe".
"Ok, I will donate this money to charity"
In the end, I just fold the money and throw it one side of my wallet.
Anyway, I am happy with my purchase for the New Year because those 3 new stuffs
are all within my budget of $100. HaHa...
I am always so stingy with my own spending because I always have the mindset
of "want, need and wish"...
Of course, it was less stressful shopping alone as I can take my own sweet time and
decide if I really want that item as well..
Hope that 2009 will be a good year for everyone...

New Year Eve
Yesterday was 31st Dec 2008... The last day of the year before 2009 arrived.
It was a "sad" farewell to 2 of my colleagues whom I really get to know better through playing table tennis. We organised a farewell lunch for them since it was also half day for the company.
When we reached Novena, one of the colleagues want to buy 2 gifts at the very last minute on that day. Me and SB accompanied this colleague Zeya to search all over the places in the shopping mall and finally he make a choice to get 2 thumbdrives of 8GB. Then he went to one of the stationary shops for the presents to be wrapped up and bought 2 cards.. Haha.. his expression seem so serious and worried when he choose the gift because I seldom see such expression on him as he is a "Joker" to us. All these took about 30min...
We arrived at the Peranankan eating house near Novena and were "late by 30min" because of the last minute gift.
The food was nice and to my liking at least. I can see on their faces that they seem so
happy and positive even though they lost their jobs... At least, this is also one good things
which I can learn from them... Be positive and optimistic in life no matter what happen..
Easier said than done but I am sure we will all overcome these tough times ahead...
To be honest, I really hope I am the one who was asked go and not them.
Because I super hate my leader and his attitude towards work. Pissed....
(No doubt I keep telling myself not to hate anyone in 2009 and "forgive them" - OMG)
Why does the company have to treat them like that just because of this economic crisis?
In such bad times, certain number of people have to be "sacrificed" in order for the company
and others to survive. Yet why is it always the "good and nice" people the one who have
to suffer such fate? I still feel so unfair and unjust for them to leave.
But on the other positive side, I am sure they will succeed anywhere in other company
because they are very capable and got the ability to overcome these obstacles...
Lastly, I really enjoy knowing the 2 of you. Although the times spend with you guys was short,
but I will remember and keep those memories in my heart always.
I truly wish them all the best and hope to stay in touch with them (Mr Sin Chee & Roger)
